With the theme of IIT Alumni Make a Better World, the conference seeks to bring together a diverse group of iconic industry leaders across Fortune 500 companies and industry/government bodies from US and India to provide insights and analyses of the current economic trends and developments in both regions.

The conference will host a series of plenary sessions and panels featuring an exciting line up of executives and strategists. We have a packed agenda for the attendees over the three days to facilitate discussion, networking, entertainment and career development. Here are some highlights:

Conference Kickoff

On Friday, July 1, 2011, IIT alumni will ring the opening and closing bell on the NASDAQ exchange. The NASDAQ closing bell will showcase the companies founded by IIT alumni that are listed on the Exchange. The celebration will be broadcast live on the giant TV screen in Times Square.

The conference will open with the IIT 2011 Global Conference Torch Lighting ceremony. The Torch will be lit by distinguished dignitaries from US and India, symbolizing the contribution of IIT Alumni to bilateral trade between the US and India. Grammy Award nominee Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon will sing an invocation specially composed for the ceremony.

Speaker Sessions

Executive Vision Plenary Sessions will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011. Each session will have a moderator and two corporate CEOs from US and India. The Plenary Sessions will cover important and topical areas of interest in:

  • Energy and CleanTech
  • Technology and Mobile Media
  • Life Sciences
  • Digital and Social Media
  • Consumer Products

Panel Vision Sessions will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2011. Each session will have a moderator and several high level executives as panelists who will provide sector-specific views and discuss opportunities to enhance bilateral opportunities:

  • Consulting - The Consulting Life, Corporate Governance, and Corporate Ethics

Entertainment and Other Programs

Entertainment on Friday and Saturday evening will feature an exciting spectable of performances to be announced shortly.

Offsite programs are being planned for attendees to enjoy New York City’s sightseeing, shopping, and exciting night life:

  • Friday and Sunday afternoon Museum Tours
  • Day Sightseeing Tours of New York City
  • Night Tours of the City
  • Shopping discounts with major retailers
  • College Campus Tours of Columbia University and NYU

Some offsite events are also being organized for Thursday for attendees who will be coming in a day earlier to enjoy the City.

Discounted hotel rates will be made available to attendees from Thursday noon to Monday noon so that attendees can enjoy the July 4th Macy's Fireworks.

This year, IIT is taking place in the global business Hub NYC. We have selected the Hilton New York Hotel as the venue for the conference. Even though the conference has a packed schedule we do recognize that most attendents will want to combine their trip to New York with some sight seeing.
